A Personal Message from the Founder

My name is Emily Piché, RVT, CHPT, CPEP. I am the founder and Owner of The Art of Goodbye, a pioneering organization dedicated to transforming veterinary hospice and end-of-life care.

In 2018, I assisted in the startup and development of one of Canada’s first veterinary hospice centers, where I served as Lead RVT and later as Assistant Medical Director.

My experiences in these roles deepened my commitment to providing compassionate and meaningful hospice care for pets and their families. 

In 2021, I became one of the first RVTs in Canada to regularly provide in-home euthanasia services under the indirect supervision of a veterinarian. 

It was during this time that I began to recognize how few veterinary teams offered hospice care or a peaceful euthanasia experience using modern protocols. 

For this reason, I developed a hospice and end-of-life care training program to help teams elevate the service provided during a pets’ final stage of life.
